First of all ... I request others to forgive me for typing in English being a Tamilian by birth. Director Seeman interview is really superb. No words to express its quality. After a long time, am going through a good and unique interview. Thanks to Keetu and by Friend Tamil who introduced me to Keetru.

I've seen quite a number of articles in keetru.com under the heading "Ilakkiya Mettimai Thanathinul Uraiyum Arpavadha Idhayam" by somebody and now this article by Madhimaran. Why the website is wasting such trash written by these fellows that too sometime in 2004.

I think there is a basic hatred for these fellows about Sundara Ramaswamy and the only reason for this in Tamil Nadu could be that he is a Brahmin. If he was a rich Nayakkar like Erottu Fraudu Kannadatthu EVR, these fellows would have appreciated and jumped from heaven to earth eulogising the photos of their leader EVR (Aahaa, EVR cuckoos pogum bodhu kooda eppadi moonjiyai vecchukkittu sindhikkiraar?)

At the outset, please forgive me for writing in English as I do not have the tamil font facility.

I read the interview of Director Seeman in keetru.com and wish to pose the following questions to this "revolutionary"?

a) Seeman asks "Endha Pappaan Anju Acre nilam vecchu vivasaayam panninaan?". My reply is all the lands are with your Nayakkars and Mudaliars. In Tamil Nadu which Nayakkan and Mudalian worked in the fields? EVR ennikku vayalla velai senjaan? Half of Erode belonged to him and he was doing "Thinnai Panjayatthu". It is these bloody fellows who are talking about social justice and upliftment of SC/STs.

b) Seeman talks elaborately about Tamil and the need for speaking in Tamil in Tamil Nadu. But it was his leader the "Erottu Fraudu" EVR who said "Tamil" is a kattumirandi language and "I am a Kannadian" in his biography written by Sami Chidambaranar. I've seen Seeman often referring himself as "Periyar's Grandson". If he is indeed Periyar's Grandson, why can't Seeman go to Karnataka and pluck hair (Mayiru Pudungaradhu - in Seeman's own language) there?

c) "Paracchigalellam ravikkai podarathunaala dhaan naattula thuni vilai yeri pocchu" - sonnadhu none other than Seeman's grandfather EVR.

Seeman represents the powerful backward classes of Tamil Nadu (mostly Telugus and Kannadigas) who want to occupy each and every sphere of life in Tamil Nadu by talking about the false concept of "Dravidian" and "Dravida Naadu". Why can't Seeman go to Karnataka CM or Andhra CM and tell that he's Periyar's Grandson and solve the Cauvery and Mullaperiyar issues? Anga pona seruppaala adippaan? People in Andhra and Karnataka have united on the basis of language. It is the Erottu Fraudu EVR and his disciples (Kannadigas and Telugus) who duped Tamil Nadu by talking about the false concept of Dravida Naadu etc., In Seeman's understanding, people like EVR, Annadurai (Telugu), Arcot Veeraswamy (who speaks Telugu even with the dog in his house as confirmed by his leader Kalaignar) are all Pacchai Tamizhargal. Yaarada Emaatthureenga?

Very good article latha ramakrishnan. I am surprised to see people like shoba sakthi. could able to make such no sense comment. Writers of these caliber should try to come out of barriers and try to look at problems with different angle. One of the funniest interviews I have ever come across. Mr. Seeman thinks very seriously about himself. And very lightly of others. He keeps asking the L.K.G questions like “Where is your god?”, “Show me your god” kind. I still wonder how a man can take it into his head that it is the duty of his life that others should know certain things which he feels important for himself.
When people have nothing to do they start thinking in the lines of “En mozhi”, “En naadu”, “En mannu”, “En makkal” etc.. People have enough headaches already than to hear such craps.

It is not wise of me to talk like this but I cannot help saying – try to be either a film maker or a social worker but stop being a preacher. And don’t justify your reason for making films. Those who make masala movies also have their own “porulaadara thevai” like you. Their motive of amassing wealth is as good as yours – enabling you to support your so called brothers. Only people who have doubts about their own actions try to show that they are doing better than the rest of the group.

Talking loudly, fiercely, criticizing others, asking questions about others sentiments and beliefs – and above all the statement “Pesi Pesiye thaan makkala maathanum” just shows how big an ego he has. Just because you are in a media industry, you read so many books, you have your brother's support does not allow you to abuse others and start questioning about anything.

Mr. Nagarajan have closed the short story with a very important word from the English doctor. When our human race will come out of the ills of life. First of all the name widow itself should be removed from the dictionery. A female who lost her husband at whatever age it may be, should be instead of keeping away, be given more importance and responsibility to keep her engaged in all our house activities so that it will be a great relief for her while mixing with people and she will be away from the feeling of lomliness/isolation. If she is below the age of 50, remarriage is always possible atleast to take care of her at later ages. A man or woman in our society look /see a widow with less importance. Will we do the same if our own sister is a widow? Are we seeing our mother with less importance when she become/became a widow? Then why not other woman ? Sea changes we made in science and technology but we have to change our ownselves. When it will happen ?. It should happen with the present generation atleast.

The article of Mr. Raghupathy on Arunthathiyar is thoght provoking. I was almost shocked to know that only during the colonial period, when the toilet system got introduced, the Arunthathiyas were forced into the work of cleaning the toilets. Similarly the story in the Jails. Raghupathy's question whether the crime's intensity or the caste plays the determining role is apt. I congratulate Raghupathy for the paper. Keep problematizing what look so "natural".

இப்பொழூதும் (2007) பொதுவாக ப்ராமனர்களை குறை சொல்லும் போக்கு இருந்து வருகிறது. ஆனால் கடந்த 20 வருடஙளில் ஏற்பட்டுள்ள் சமூக மாற்றங்களை நாம் பார்க்க வேண்டும்.ப்ராமனர்களும் மற்ற சமூக மக்களுடன் ஒன்றாக வேலை பார்ப்பது , ஒரே குடீயிருப்பு பகுதிகளில் வசிப்பது என்று எற்ற தாழ்வுகளை மற‌ந்து வாழ்கிறார்கள்.

The author of this article Mr. Arivumadhi has criticised the articles written by Mr.Gnani, Mr.Madhan and Mr.Sujatha and has mixed up the general things, including some jokes and rajinis political stand etc, published in vikadan and claims that over all "Anandha vikadan" is against Tamils.

I have absolutely no idea about Mr.Madhan, Mr.Sujatha and also about anandha vikadan editors. But for sure i have read Mr.Gnanis articles in the past 1 year or so. I am not sure if Mr.Gnani can be held responsible for the articles,jokes,etc that appear in anandha vikadan? Ofcourse all his writings can be criticised but making him as a scapegoat for others fault is not fair. Any comment on anybody (Gnani in this case) should only be based on their work (his writings).
I suppose many authors/readers in keetru are in favour of Womens right, liberation of women from religious and cultural oppressions. Hope everybody would have heard about the honeymoon murder carriedout by Ms.Vidya and her boyfriend. Didnt you all hear anything from the women right oppressors that this is what will happen if women are given freedom. I request you all to gothrough what Gnani wrote about that incident. When there was a bandh organised by hindutva activists in bhopal, how many tamilians came to know about the danger that they will face if they support hindutva organisations? Didnt gnani care about the tamilians and warn them? Didnt gnani write against the tamil talibanish thinking of protesting against valentines day? Didnt gnani write against the cowardly activity of breaking the periyar statue and against the dangerous thinking targeting the innocent for the brutality done by some barbarians. OK enough evidences are there to convince myself that Gnani doesnot write against tamils.

Let us now see two criticisms raised against Gnani by the author. 1)Gnani is stealing things from library and other educated peoples
2) Gnani is not qualified to write this article

OK.now for the first criticism, Anandha vikadan is a weekly magazine and NOT a scientific journal. Unlike scientific journals, in such a weekly magazine, there is no requirement for any author of a weekly magazine to provide citations to validate their arguements. That doesnt mean that anybody can write anything. As long as the informations are correct and as long as any book is not translated without consent from the editor is illegal. As long as Gnani is not translating from any one book he cannot be criticised under plagiarism.
2) Now for the second criticism that gnani is not qualified to write this article - this is completely different from the surgery case. Personaly i feel that there is nothing wrong as long as he doesnot write onbehalf of the qualified professional.

Knowing very well that in India majority of girls are abused at young age in the home by their close relatives or friends or neighbours and without understanding the necessity of sex education, many states in India are facing opposition from cultural terrorists and political parties to start the sex education in school.In tamilnadu people like L.Ganesan are talking against that. Dont we see the need for sex education for the adults of tamilnadu? The initiation from a popular writer could bring a change in the mindset of adults, so that our younger generation can learn sex education at schools, not to know how to have sex but to learn how to face sexual abuses....

Anee, Prakaash Anne,First of all the basic principle of Rama himself is to give up oneself and ready to bear the pain for the benefit of others. If "Kaikayee" had asked that Rama should stay in the forest for ever and should never return to Ayodhya, Rama would have agreed for the same. Its very unfortunate that few people are exploiting such a selfless man for their own political benefits. On the other hand its true that he bridge is an ancient engineering and if there is alternate sea routes available we can well divert to that route. The sea between Rameswaram and Paamban is very deep and had been used for ship transportation for more than 5000 years till 1954. The same sea route can be easily re used and can be connected to the sethu canal with minimum expnditure. But like politicians, most of the readers are also more intersted in negative work! We are not against Sethu canal, We are also thamilans. We want the thamilnadu to develp- Sincerely! In fact we are even ready to assit in completing sethu canal, but please answer the following:IF THE TUTUCORIN IS GOING TO BE DEVELOPED BY SETHU CANL PROJECT: 1)For the ships which are going towards West- That is bound for Middle east, Africa, Europe from the Tuticorin port there is no effect due to sethu canal! 2) only those ships travelling from Tutocorin towards east, such as Singapore, Malaysia, China can be benefitted from sethu canl! Ok, now what sort of import and export are planed from Tutocorin To Singapore, Malaysia , Shanghai...etc? 3)Are we going to export Trucks, cars, Jeeps, Computers, Electronics, Robots, Mobiles to any of these Singapore, Taiwan countries? these countries are exporting these items to all parts of the world. Hence International trade wont increase due to Sethu canal project! 4) As for as ship transportation betwen parts of India is concerned, the other important ports in the east coast are Chennai, Vizag, and Paradeep only! Now what is the big trade we are going to do with Vizag and Paradeep from Tutucorin! 5) As for as the International sea route is concerned, for those sailors from South Africa, Zimbawa, Kenya..etc, travelling through Indian ocean is shorter than travelling through the sethu canal. The writer's views are mostly aimed against the Bhramins rather than upliftment of Daliths. Excellent Interview!. I must appreciate Keetru first rather than WRVaradharajan, because Keetru has did it well, behaved responsibly but at the same time doses't make any compromise on its questions. It is the time to learn from Keetru's interviewer as how to conduct a interview with a political leader. It is good that the interviewer doen't provoke the interviewee as it is in prarctice in any form of interview or sycophance .

Right from the days of EVR, these people have been showing the "Paappan Poochandi" to hide their evils and atrocities. EVR, a Kannadiga and Annadurai, a Telugu were able to cheat Tamils for the last 80 years by showing "Pappaan Poochandi" and prevent the Tamils from uniting on the basis of language. I've never seen a Kannadiga or a Telugu or a Malayali person calling himself a "Dravidian" till date. People like EVR cunningly prevented the unification of Tamils on the basis of language and instead foisted the false concept of "Dravidian" and "Dravida Naadu". Viduthalai Rajendran also belongs to these type of people.

I must thank Sri Ram Prasad for providing me with an opportunity to explain on Mohmedan Fatwa and the rigid rules and commands imposed by the leaders of a particular community among themselves.

There is vast difference between Mohmedan Fatwa and the rigid rules imposed by community leaders of a particular commmunity on their member families.
Mohmedan Fatwa is universal, binding on every Mohmedan on earth. It is an encouragement and inducement to indulge in violence, cold blooded murder.

The rigid rules or commandments forced by the leaders of a particular community on its members is clearly violation of human rights of individuals but the affected persons can approach a court of law or law enforcing authority of the land for redressal. I am against such human rights violations and in my life I have helped many young lovers belonging to different castes to marry and live together. But if you closely study the love affair between Mohmedan and Hindu, you will find it always ends as Mohmedan boy and Hindu girl. Why is it NOT the other way round? Mohmedan girls do fall in love with Hindu boys and if at all it materialises, the Hindu boy becomes Mohmedan and in case of Hindu girl it is the same story! She will have to change her faith! Even if she remains a Hindu, her children have to be Mohmedans! This is the situation in higher societies. Seeing the realitiy, rigid rules are imposed as safety measures. The caste ridden Hindu society fights within itself in such matters on the basis of caste considerations. Marriage between two different castes should be encouraged without any hesitation and the outdated caste structure should be demolished. Our Mohmedan and Christian brethren should return to the Hindu fold by mrriages between religions. When I say Hindu, I refer to a great civilisation and heritage, rich in culture and tradition. Pl do NOT mix it with religion. For instance, most of the people in Indonesia are Mohmedan by religion but culturally, they preserve their Hindu identity. They retain their Hindu names and follow Hindu customs. Hindu religion is diffrent from Hindu civilisation and culture, though religion has a strong influence on these. When I say Hindu, it is always the Hindu Society and NOT Hindu religion. If you think deep and analyse, you will know the difference. I hope imposition of rigid rules and commands of a particular commmunity among its members will not be equated with universal Mohmedan Fatwa, which is usually encoraging violent attack on an individual, inducing people to do so by offering hefty rewards.

In the guise of creative freedom of artists, Hussein Sab painted Hindu gods in compromising positions and in nude, hurting the religious sentiments of Hindus. In earlier times, nudity had no reservations among the enlightened Hindus and therefore such descriptions were not objected but appreciated instead. Now the outlook has changed. You cannot have nude sculptures in temples being built presently. The wood work in temple cars( Ther) cannot depict any compromising poses now. People enjoy semi nudity in films and total copulaion in pornos! The society has become a whole lot of hypocrate (this is all because of the influence of Mohmedan rule for a long time). Hussein Sab has NOT painted other characters in nudity if he really meant nudity an indication of purity. And being a Mohmedan, he should not have taken liberties with Hindu gods when he cannot even think of painting the prophet of his religion fully clothed! He had the audaucity to continue to paint Hindu gods in nudity and had to face the consequences. Other few artists also faced similar violent condemnation. This is not the case of Taslima and Rushdie. Taslima advocated for changes, asking her religion to move with times. Rushdie quoted the verses of Koran, which were dropped or altered by Mohmedan prophet according to his convenience. In what way these can be equated with Hussien's paintings of Hindu gods in nude? How can any sane person put the Hindu activists' condemnation against Hussein on par with murderous fatwa of Mohmedans and their violent attack on their own writers just because they asked for reformation or pointed out the anamolies?

Social revolution in Tamil Nadu has not gone beyond selective hatred for Brahmins. Can any of you give us the statistics on details of free admission /education to Harijan students in the institutions run by EV Ramasamy Naicker's Charitable Trust. Anti-Brahminism has always been a fashion in Tamil Nadu because you can go on and on without any fear of retaliation.

You've not told your name and that is why I've referred to as Mr. X. I am not against any caste or any particular person. In fact, I am a liberal and open-minded person than many of the "revolutionaries" of Tamil Nadu. Tamil Nadu would be better if the people of the State try to build up the society on the basis of mutual trust and friendship and not on the basis of mindless hatred and venom against a particular community making it responsible for all the ills. The blame of ill-treating and harassing the SC/STs has to be equally shared by the Pappaans and the Backward Classes equally, especially in Tamil Nadu.

Why are you people not open to any criticism? If anybody criticises EVR, the normal tendency in Tamil Nadu is to point out to his caste and snub him as a Pappaan.

அண்மையில் கீற்று இணைய இதழில், மினர்வா மற்றும் நந்தன் எழுத்தாளர் ஆதவன் தீட்சண்யா அவர்களை நேரில் கண்டு எடுத்த தமிழன் என்று சொல்வது வெட்டிப் பெருமை பேட்டியை ஆர்வத்துடன் வாசித்தேன். குறிப்பாக, சாதிஅமைப்பு மற்றும் ஒடுக்குமுறையால் ஏற்பட்டுவருகிற சமூக அவலங்கள், வரலாற்று விபரங்கள் பற்றி அவர் கூறும் பல விஷயங்களில் எனக்கு ஒத்த கருத்துண்டு. என்றாலும் சில விஷயங்களை இங்கே சுட்டியாக வேண்டியிருக்கிறது.

தம்முடைய நேர்காணலில் ஆதவன் தீட்சண்யா, சென்ற செப்டம்பர் மாதம் தீராநதியில் வெளியான என் பேட்டி குறித்துப் பின்வரும் கருத்துக்களை வெளியிட்டிருக்கிறார்:

"சமீபத்திய தீராநதி இதழில் நாகார்ஜுனனின் நேர்காணல் வெளியாகியிருந்தது. 'என் அம்மா ஜெயகாந்தன் எழுத்தை விரும்பிப் படிப்பவர், என் தாத்தா வள்ளலாரை கரைத்துக் குடித்தவர், என் மாமா இன்னின்னாரோடு தொடர்புடையவர்' என்பதாகவெல்லாம் குறிப்பிட்டிருந்தார். அவரது வாசிப்பு, சிந்தனை, எழுத்து முயற்சிகளுக்கு ஒரு பாரம்பரிய வேர் இருப்பதை நிறுவியிருந்தார். ஒருவகையில் கருவிலே திருவுடையோனாக காட்டிக்கொள்ளும் முயற்சியும் இயல்பாக வந்துவிடுகிறது. அதாவது நாகார்ஜுனன் தன் அம்மா, தாத்தா, மாமாவின் தோள் மீது ஏறி நின்று பேசிக் கொண்டிருக்கிறார். நாங்கள் இப்பேர்ப்பட்ட பரம்பரையாக்கும் என்கிற கித்தாப்பு அவரையறியாமலே வெளிப்படுகிறது."

என்னுடைய பேட்டியில் உள்ள ஒருசில வரிகளை மாத்திரம் சுருக்கி எடுத்தாண்டு இப்படி ஒரு முடிவுக்கு வருவது ஆச்சரியத்தை அளிக்கிறது. சௌகர்யமாக
விடப்பட்டுவிட்ட வரிகளைப் பார்க்கலாம்:

"என்னுடைய அம்மா, தி. ஜானகிராமன், ஜெயகாந்தனின் அதிதீவிர வாசகி. நான் பிறந்தது பிராமண சமுதாயத்தில்தான் என்றாலும்கூட திருமூலர், சிவவாக்கியர், வள்ளலார் போன்றவர்களின் அறிமுகம் எங்கள் குடும்பத்தில் இயல்பாக நடந்திருக்கிறது. எங்கள் தாத்தாவின் மூலமாக இந்த அறிமுகம் நடந்திருக்கிறது என்று சொல்லலாம். தாத்தாவின் தாயார் வள்ளலாரின் பாடல்களை மனப்பாடம் செய்யாமல் நன்கு பாடக்கூடிய ஆற்றல் பெற்றவராக இருந்தார். சாதியைத் தாண்டி யோசிக்கின்ற அழுத்தம் எங்களது வீட்டில், ஒரு சீர்திருத்த அளவில் இருந்துகொண்டிருந்தது என்று சொல்வேன்ஸ"

அதாவது, சாதியை மீறிச் சிந்திக்கிற, சீர்திருத்த அளவிலான ஒரு போக்கு, சித்தர் மற்றும் வள்ளலார் பாடல்கள் வழி, மற்றபடி பிராமணர்களாக இருந்த எங்கள் குடும்பத்தில் ஒருசிலரிடம் இருந்தது, அது பிற்பாடு உதவியாக அமைந்தது என்று கூறப்பட்டிருப்பதை தீட்சண்யா வசதியாக மாற்றிக்கொள்கிறார். சரி, விட்டுவிடலாம் என்று பார்த்தால், குடும்பத்தில் இந்த சிலரின் தாக்கத்துக்குப் பிறகு, திராவிட இயக்கத்தால் தாக்கம் பெற்றவர்கள் எனக்கு ஆசிரியர்களாக அமைந்தார்கள், அவர்களின் ஊக்குவிப்புதான் என்னை எழுதவே தூண்டியது என்று நான் கூறியதை தீட்சண்யா கண்டுகொள்ளவே இல்லை!

அதாவது அறுபதுகளில் குடும்பத்தில் ஓரளவும், பள்ளியில் முழுமையாகவும் கிட்டிய மாற்றுமரபுகள் மற்றும் சீர்திருத்த வெளிமூலமாக, பிராமணியத்துக்கு மாறாக அப்பருவத் தன்னிலை-உருவாக்கம் இயக்கமாக நடைபெற்றது என்று நான் கூறுவது, "கருவிலே திருவுடையோனாக காட்டிக்கொள்ளும் முயற்சியாக இயல்பாக" தீட்சண்யாவுக்குத் தெரிகிறது.

சரி, அந்தப் பேட்டியில் குடும்பம் பற்றி நான் கூறியுள்ள வேறு விஷயங்களைப் பார்க்கலாம்:

"இப்படிக் கலைஞர்களின் தினசரி புழக்கத்தின் நடுவில் நான் வளர்ந்தேன். சங்கீதம், நாடகம், இலக்கியப் பரிச்சயம் எல்லாம் எனக்குள் இயல்பாகப் பதிந்திருக்கிறது. வேறு எங்கிருந்தோ இதை திடீரென்று யாரும் எனக்கு எடுத்துவந்து கொடுக்கவில்லை. இப்படியான ஒரு சூழலில் வளர்ந்த எனக்கு, இந்த ரசனை வரவில்லை என்றால்தான் தப்பு. எங்களின் வீட்டில் பலருக்கு அது வரவேயில்லை. அப்படியான ஒரு தப்பும் நடந்திருக்கிறது என்பதால் அதையும் சேர்த்தே குறிப்பிட விரும்புகிறேன்."

சரி, இதை குடும்பப்பெருமை என்று வைத்துக்கொண்டால்கூட, பேட்டியில் இதற்கடுத்த வரியிலேயே என்ன கூறுகிறேன்?

"எந்தப் பின்புலத்தின் நடுவில் இருந்து இந்த ரசனையோடு வளர்ந்தேனோ அதுவே பிறகு பெரிய தொந்தரவாக எனக்குள் மாறிவிட்டது. நான் இதிலிருந்து விலகினேன். சபா நாடகங்களை வெறுத்தேன். கர்நாடக சங்கீதம் கேட்பதையே தவிர்த்தேன். பெரிய புரட்சி எனக்குள் நடந்திருக்கிறது. ஆகையால் இதிலிருந்து விலகி நான் ஓடிவிட்டேன்ஸ"

அதற்கு முன்பாக தமிழ் பயில்வதிலிருந்து விலகியதையும் வெளிப்படையாகக் கூறுகிறேன்..

"பியூசிக்குப் பிற்பாடு தமிழை நான் முறையாகப் பயிலவே இல்லை. அந்த அளவுக்குப் பெரிய இடைவெளி உண்டானது. சயின்ஸ் படிக்கவேண்டும் என்று தமிழை நிறுத்தியேவிட்டேன்."

இன்னும் படித்தால் வருகிறது:

"நான் பி.டெக். படித்த அந்த ஐந்தாண்டுகளும் சென்னை மயிலாப்பூர் பிராமண பிரச்னைகள், பழக்க வழக்கங்கள் என்று இவற்றிலிருந்து நான் முற்றிலுமாக விலகிவிட்டேன்ஸ"

அதாவது பதின்ம வயதில் படிப்படியாக பிராமணிய-குடும்ப அமைப்பைத் தாண்டி, பரந்த வாழ்வு பற்றித் தெரிந்துகொள்ள ஆரம்பித்தேன், குடும்பத்துடன் ஏற்பட்ட முரண்பாடுகளை எதிர்கொள்ளத் தொடங்கினேன் என்று கூறப்போக, அதை தீட்சண்யா தமக்கு வேண்டியபடி பின்வருமாறு அர்த்தப்படுத்தியிருக்கிறார்:

"நாகார்ஜுனன் தன்னுடைய வேர்களின் பிரபல்யத்தைக் குறித்து பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அதை அகங்காரமாக அல்ல, வெகு இயல்பாகச் சொல்கிறார். அவர் பேசுவதிலிருந்து நாங்கள் கல்வி கற்ற தலைமுறையைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்று சொல்கிறார். அவர் சொல்லாமல் விட்ட விஷயம், என் அம்மாவும் தாத்தாவும் கல்வி கற்ற அதேநேரத்தில் யாரெல்லாம் கல்வி கற்கவில்லை என்பதைத் தான். இவர்களுக்கு கல்வி கிடைக்கக் காரணமாயிருந்த அதே சாதிதான் மற்றவர்களுக்கு கல்வி கிடைக்காமல் போவதற்கும் காரணமாய் இருந்திருக்கிறது."

இந்தக் கூற்றில் கடைசி வரியும் ராமாமிருதம் அம்மையாரின் வமிசாவழியினருக்குத் தனிப்பட்ட அவமானம் என்று ஏதும் கிடையாது, அது மொத்த சமுதாயத்தின் அவமானம் என்று அவர் கூறுவதும் முற்றிலும் நிஜம். ஆனால் அந்த நிஜத்தை மறுப்பவன் நான், மறைப்பவன் நான் என்பதுபோலக் காட்டப்பார்க்கிறார் தீட்சண்யா! எது நிஜம்? தீட்சண்யா குறிப்பிடுவது போல நான் "வேர்களில் பிரபல்யத்தைக்" குறித்துப் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கவில்லை – மாறாக, எங்கள் குடும்பத்தினரைத் தாண்டி, அந்த "வேர்களின் பிரபல்யத்தைத்" தாண்டி நான் வாழ ஆரம்பித்த கட்டத்தை பேட்டியில் இப்படிக் கூறியிருக்கிறேன்:

".. பம்பாய்க்குச் செல்வதுதான் சரியென்று முடிவெடுத்தேன். ஆக, அங்கு சென்றதும் அந்தச் சமூகத்திற்குள் நான் தனியனானேன். ஒரு நவீன வாழ்க்கையை தனி மனிதனாக எதிர்கொண்டேன். என்னுடைய குடும்பம், வர்க்கச் சாய்விலிருந்து முற்றிலுமாக மீண்டும் விலகினேன். அங்கிருந்த இரண்டாண்டுகளில் தொழிற்சங்கவாதிகள், நாடகப் பிரியர்கள், கலைஞர்கள், இலக்கியவாதிகள், வெறும் பொறுக்கிகள் என்று பெரிய வட்டம் எனக்கு நண்பர்களாக அமைந்தது. என்னுடன் இருந்தவர்களில் பலர் நக்ஸல்பாரி இயக்கத்துடன் செயல்பட்டு, காவல்துறையின் ஒடுக்குமுறைக்கு ஆளாகி வங்காளத்திலிருந்து தப்பித்து வந்து தலைமறைவாகப் பணியாற்றிக் கொண்டிருந்தார்கள். அந்தப் பின்புலத்தோடு என்னுடன் அறிமுகமானார்கள். இவர்களைச் சந்தித்த பின்புதான் தமிழ்நாட்டிலிருந்தும், குடும்பப் பின்புலத்திலிருந்தும் வெட்டி வாழ்வது என்பது எவ்வளவு அவசியமானதாக இருக்கிறது என்பதை உணர்ந்தேன். இந்த அணுகுமுறையை என் வாழ்நாளில் திரும்பத் திரும்ப பயிற்சி செய்து பார்த்திருக்கிறேன்."

என் இருபதாவது வயதில் நான் கண்டறிந்த இந்த வாழ்க்கையைத் தான் என் பாரம்பரியமாக நினைக்கிறேன் என்பதைப் பேட்டியில் தெளிவுபடுத்தியிருக்கிறேன்ஸ இதை ஒட்டி என் வாழ்வில் நடந்த மாற்றங்களை விவரித்த பிறகு பேட்டியில் மேலும் கூறுகிறேன்:

"ஆக, ஒரு உயர்ஜாதி பின்புலத்திலிருந்து வந்து, பெரிய அலைக்கழிப்புகளுக்கு ஆளாகி, ஒரு சிதறுண்ட மனநிலையில் வாழ்ந்த என்னை (படிகள், பரிமாணம், இலக்கிய வெளிவட்டம் ஆகிய) இப்பத்திரிகைகள் ஈர்த்தன. இப்பத்திரிகைகளின் சொல்லாடல்கள், வார்த்தைகள், களன்கள், கருத்துக்கள், பின்புலங்கள் எல்லாவற்றையும் என்னுடையதாக நான் உணரத்தொடங்கி இவற்றுடன் இணைந்து செயல்பட ஆரம்பித்தேன்ஸ நான் செயல்படத் தொடங்கிய காலகட்டத்தில் தான் - தமிழ்நாட்டில் அறிவுஜீவிகளாக இயங்கிக் கொண்டிருந்த பல – மேற்சொன்ன நபர்களுடனான உறவுகள் எனக்குக் கிடைத்தன. இந்த உறவுகள் இன்றுவரை தொடர்கின்றன. என் பின்புலத்தை மீறி வாழ இவையே உதவியிருக்கின்றன. தவிர, ஆங்கிலப்பத்திரிகைத் துறையில் பணியாற்றிய இருபதாண்டுக்கால அனுபவம், பல புதிய சமூகக் கதவுகளைத் தானாகத் திறந்தது.."

ஆனால் பேட்டியில் இதுவும் சரி, இன்னும் பலவும் சரி தீட்சண்யாவின் கண்ணில் படவில்லை என்பது ஆச்சரியமாக இருக்கிறது. ஆக, தன்னிலை-உருவாக்கம் என்பதில் ஏற்படும் சிக்கல்களை, பிரச்னைகளைத் தவிர்த்துவிட்டு 'தான்' என்பதை எளிதாகச் சுருக்கிப் பின்வரும் முடிவுக்கு வந்துவிட முடிகிறது அவரால்:

"நாகார்ஜுனன் உலக அரசியல் விஷயங்கள் குறித்துப் பேசினாலும் அவர் சாதியின் தோள்மீது நின்றுதான் பேசிக்கொண்டிருக்கிறார். அவர் 'தான்' என்றும், தன் அனுபவம் என்றும் பேசியது தன்னுடைய சாதி கொடுத்த அறிவைத்தான். நாகார்ஜுனன் தான் எழுதியதற்கு நேர்மையாக இருக்கிறார் என்றால் இந்த இடத்தில் எது
நேர்மை என்ற கேள்வி வருகிறது."

வருத்தமாக இருக்கிறது. வேறென்ன சொல்ல முடியும்! அரசியலிலும் சரி, இலக்கியத்திலும் சரி, நண்பர்களை எதிரிகளாகச் சுருக்கும் போக்கு, ஆள்திரட்டலுக்கு உதவலாம், இறுதியில் எதிரிகளை நண்பர்களாக விரித்துக் காட்டுவதிலும் போய் முடியலாம். இதெல்லாம் இன்று அறிந்தே செய்ய வேண்டிய கித்தாப்பாக, நேர்மையாக இருக்கும் போல..

Nagarjunan expects Adavan to read and understand the interview with him published in Theeranathi. I am all the more surprised that he thinks so after reading the interview. Adavan sets ups straw men to knock them down. For him Nagarjunan is one such straw man, and brahmins are the other. i belong to dindigul district. In our area, lot of untouchability activities are still alive. my village is Kalanjipatty which locates near oddanchatram. In my panchayat, there are 6 villages there. But there is no single Dalit faimily in these villages. On the same time, a Dalit could not enter our area specifically Nayakkar Community living Streets. An amazing fact fact is there. A non-Nayakkar man couldnot enter that streets wearing footwear, eventhough you are a Brahmin. They will give you a seperate plate for you to eat in those houses.

Whether Gnani accepts it or not, We have achieved academic brilliance and economic freedom due to the non tiring efforts of Leaders like Periyar, Anna and Kalaignar. I remember that some professionals in my thanjavur were searching for Poonul in my body and when they found none they did not admit me for doing CA course. I had to go a faraway town to do the course. Some people have the habit of showing their Agyaan by pretending as if they are concerned about the good health of Kalaignar. Why did gnani have the courage to advise Vajpayee who was alos helped to walk when he was the PM. Gnani has his own reasons.

Your lashing on Gnani is perfect. But... don't justify KK(kalaignar) and his politics and movements.

Look at countries like austrlalia where after 2 terms, they relinquish their position in favor of their followers or those who are prepared by their party. Premier of Labor party in one state of Australia, resigned after 2 terms of elections stating that he has done 'enough'. Also his son committed a crime! you know what - he drove his car in drunken condition and didn't even cause any harm just bruised some one that's all. Premier took moral responsibility for that.

Compare that to our country. Here it is only family that is the political party. Even JJ's party is same. Will any CM take moral resopnsibilty for his sons'(both Sta & Ala) mischiefs.

The 'thondars' (durai murugan, arcottar etc.) have to be 'thondars' only and can never aspire to rule the state.

I joined RBI along with Mr W.R.Varadharajan in late 1969 and we had moved very close. We joined the trade union movement at the same time. But due to various reasons we had gone in opposite directions. But I sdmired him then and admire him now for clarity in his thoughts and conviction in his deeds. He was perhaps the only person who followed what he preached, or rather belived, literally in his life.

I have lost contact with him ever since he left RBI. Is it possible to get his email address so that I can re-establish my contact with him. This ofcourse is if he also desires so.

Such things are open secretes in our state. the fundamental feudalistic mentality has to be cured. the medicine for curing is with people. Lots of social degradation in the name of fun and entertainment. To me it seems that most of the people live here without happiness. Because of this when Japanese people come out of their country, everything seems cheap to them and they run to buy the happiness. This brouhgt me to think, what we search, while losing what we have....

Even the hotels have the same policy like tamilnadu. Eat first and pay at the counter while going out. Tokyo alone there seem to be around 100 Indian restaraunts, because Japanese like the Indian food. Mostly North indian food. A caring social system especially for children and ages. Every one gets the insurance for their basic needs such as health care. Quality in every activity is well attached and they it became their DNA. When I awed their growth, one person told me all this was possible because of wwII. After the war, most of their old thinking started changing. War caused losses to all in the society. Every one had pain and sorrow. So now every one has to work hard to come up, no exception to anyone. They keep aside the religion, class based society etc and looked at ways to make their life better. They work hard and made their products with more quality and less price to enter new markets, then history.

They seems to have some culture /words from tamils. It might have happened very many years back. In kamakura, the temples resemble exactly like our temples.

Japan is one of the most livable place on earth. As author said, that there is a lot to learn from Japan.
